The County Court Kerr County, Texas Resolution Whereas The Kerrville/Kerr County Airport is expanding in conformance with its Master plan, and an element of expansion is the creation of anew entrance off State Highway 27, and roadway within the airport; and Whereas The volume of traffic that daily enters and leaves the airport and the residential area behind the airport continues to expand due to the addition of business operations on the airport; and Whereas There has been a history of traffic accidents and fatalities at the airport entrance intersection, sufficient in number to cause the Texas Department of Transportation to install a blinking signal light at the entrance that will soon be abandoned; and Whereas A turn lane to facilitate east-bound traffic funning left into the airport, and a turn lane to facilitate west-bound traffic turning right into the airport, plus the re-location of the blinking signal light will mitigate against future traffic accidents occurring at this intersection; not therefore be it Resolved That Kerr County Commissioners' Court does hereby request that the Texas Department of Transportation authorize construction of both east and west-bound turn lanes into the new entrance to the Kerrville/Kerr County airport at the earliest possible date.
