On this the 8`" day of March 2004, upon motion made by Commissioner Baldwin,
seconded by Commissioner Nicholson, the Court unanimously approved by a vote of 4-
0-0, of Proclamation for National Day of Prayer on May 6, 2004 and authorize the
County judge to sign same.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS: America was founded on the principals of religious faith and freedom; and
WHEREAS: Throughout the history of our country, we have humbly prayed for guidance and
comfort where needed and have humbly given thanks for the many blessings that
God has graciously bestowed on this nation since its inception; and
WHEREAS: Prayer is regarded by millions as the most important utterance for mankind for its
benefits; and
WHEREAS: The National Day of Prayer is a day set aside by Congress for all Americans to pray
and reaffirm spiritual principals upon which this nation is founded; and
WHEREAS: This year marks the 53rd anniversary of the consecutive annual observance of the
National Day of Prayer and the theme, Let Freedom Ring, the freedom to gather, the
freedom to worship, the freedom to pray.
WHEREAS: Across Kerr County, Texas Americans unite in prayer for our nation, state, and
county to acknowledge our dependence upon God, to give thanks for the many
blessings our country has received from Him, to recognize our personal and
corporate renewal and moral values and to invoke God's blessings upon our leaders
and ask God to unite and heal our county.
NOW, THEREFORE, I Pat Tinley, Kerr County Judge, Kerr County, Texas, do hereby proclaim
May 6, 2004, as
"NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER"
