MEMORANDUM TO: COMMISSIONERS COURT FROM: COUNTY JUDGE DATE: April 19, 2004 SUBJECT: AGENDA ITEM FOR APRIL 26~ MEETING Periodically an existing business will indicate a desire to expand or a business will indicate an interest in establishing a new facility or operation in Kerr County. Under such circumstances, it is usual and normal for inquiries to be made concerning the local government incentives available for such an expansion or new activity. Presently, no specific or standard response can be given for such an inquiry. Informal discussions have been had with other representatives of local governments concerning the formation of a committee to be comprised of representatives from each local government entity and economic development interests to study the various incentives available to attract economic development, what incentives are being offered by other local governments and the development of a standard or uniform set of guidelines for incentives to be offered for economic development.
