Memo: Fourth Coates Kerr Central Appraisal District RE: Kerr County Commissioner's Court July 12, 2004 Agenda Time: 11:00 Fourth, Below aze some of the questions I would like you to review for the Commissioner's Court. Thanks, Jonathan Letz 1. Explain how property owners in overlapping appraisal district are appraised. Why do values vary between appraisal districts for the same property ? Why does Kendall CAD have "primary responsibility" for Kerr County tax payers that live within the CISD ? Does this "primary responsibility" also include Kerr County taxes ? 2. Explain how the Kerr CAD appraises property. What is the frequency of appraisals in Kerr County ? How does the appraisal district justify the rapid increase in property values ? Why does it seem that most property owners that protest their value get a reduction in value and is this fair to neighboring property owners that do not protest their property values? 3. Explain how the Kerr CAD interacts with the State Comptroller in regazds to appraisals. What happens if there is a discrepancy the county and the state ? 4. Explain "ag values" and how these aze calculated. xc: Paula Rector
