However, the proposed project includes the use of material (flat rail cars} tied to a Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT} project and until now __._ we have been unable to get a firm timeline from them on when the materials will be available. We now have a TXDOT timeline, and this project can not be completed until August 2005. Therefore, we respectfully request an extension for the Walk Bridge in Flat Rock Park until August of 2005, to allow us to coordinate the project with TXDOT and complete the Walk Bridge. Project Location (Please enclose a site map with the location of the project site and a FIRM map with fhe location of the project site) See Attached Proposed Action Project Description (Enclose a plan or diagram and give a detailed description of the scope of work for the project) Kerr County will build a Low Water Pedestrian Crossing on Third Creek at Flat Rock Lake by placing 4 (four} drill shafts down approximately 23' (twenty three feet) into hard shale and attach two end caps 3' X 3' X 3'. On these end caps, place 2 (two} flat rail cars and bolt dawn. These cars will be elevated above the water to allow debris to pass under. .~-. Jain existing roads to abutment of rail cars. Span 89' (eighty nine feet) across Third Creek. Use existing Flood Plain Permit #F-UU-009. Estimated cost of the above project $ 46,265.00 ~` Two Railcars $21, 000.00 This is the material tied to a TXDOT Project.. These cars were purchased by Kerr County to build a temporary bridge at Hermann Sons Road & the Guadalupe River when the structure was destroyed during DR 1425. They will be moved to Third Creek when the permanent bridge is built by TXDOT Additional Funds needed to complete the pedestrian crossing.
