Resolution WHEREAS Kerr County, The City of Kerrville and The City of Ingram separately provide law enforcement services to the citizens of Kerr County, Texas; and WHEREAS Property owners in Kerr County are taxed by Ken County, and the residents of the City of Kerrville and the City of Ingram pay an additional amount of property tax to the respective cities to help underwrite the costs of law Enforcement with property owners in the two cities paying a higher share of such costs; and WHEREAS There is a potential that significant savings in the cost of law enforcement may be achieved through the elimination of redundancies and through economies of scale by cooperatively sharing part or all of the law enforcement services provided by the three law enforcement agencies; and WHEREAS A combination or sharing of resources of some or all of the three agencies may result in enhancements in the capability of law enforcement and in the achievement of better results through the "seamless" delivery of services; now therefore be it RESOLVED That Kerr County Commissioners' Court does hereby endorse the organization of a study of the benefits that may be derived from identifying opportunities from the sharing of resources or combining all or part of the law enforcement services now performed by law enforcement agencies in Kerr County, The City of Kerrville and the City of Ingram; and be it further RESOLVED That Kerr County Commissioners' Court invites the Kerrville and Ingram City Councils to join Kerr County in the appointment of a member of its body, a representative from each of the mentioned law enforcement entities and two members of the public at large by each local government entity in a joint effort to complete the study and report the study findings and recommendations to the three government entities by March 1, 2005.
