"BUSTER" BALDWIN, Commissioner Pct. 1 WILLIAM "BILL" WILLIAMS, Commissioner Pct. 2 JONATHAN LETZ, Commissioner Pct. 3 DAVE NICHOLSON, Commissioner Pct. 4 ~i \I 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 On Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at 1:30 p.m., a special meeting of the Kerr County Commissioners Court was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, Kerr County Courthouse, Kerrville, Texas, and the following proceedings were had in open court: P R O C E E D I N G S JUDGE TINLEY: Let me call to order the special Commissioners Court meeting scheduled for this time and date, Tuesday, September 21st, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. The agenda item today is a public hearing, so I will recess the Commissioners Court meeting, and I will open a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2004-2005 tax rate for Kerr County. Is there any member of the public that wishes to be heard concerning the proposed Fiscal Year 2004-2005 tax rate for Kerr County? If so, you're privileged to come forward at this time and give us your thoughts on it. (No response.) JUDGE TINLEY: There being no one coming forward, I will close the public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2004-2005 tax rate for Kerr County. I would note that, according to the schedule that's been provided by our Tax Assessor/Collector, there will be notice posted -- or published, actually, for a meeting to adopt the proposed tax rate for September 30th. That's a Wednesday. Have we ascertained a specific time for that yet, gentlemen? That's on a Wednesday. MS. RECTOR: Just give me a time. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: 10 o'clock? That's kind of a round number that we always use. JUDGE TINLEY: All right. COMMISSIONER LETZ: 10 o'clock? COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: 10 o'clock. JUDGE TINLEY: If you'll get the appropriate notice published -- MS. MITCHELL: Excuse me, Judge. September 30th is on a Thurs day. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: That's correct. JUDGE TINLEY: A thousand pardons. COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS: Thursday or Friday? COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: It's Thursday. MS. MITCHELL: Thursday. And you do have hearings. I've got your sch edule; I brought it in just in case. JUDGE TINLEY: Okay. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: Do you have mine? Normally, I'd be through by around 10:00, but in case they take a little bit longer. COMMISSIONER BALDWIN: Adopt tax rate. JUDGE TINLEY: 10:30, yes. Did you get that correction, Ms. Rector? Ms. Rector? MS. RECTOR: I'm sorry, I was asking her about the budget on file. You know that you have to adopt the budget prior to adopting the tax rate? JUDGE TINLEY: Mm-hmm. MS. RECTOR: Okay. JUDGE TINLEY: That's -- the budget's going to be on the agenda for the 27th. MS. RECTOR: 27th for adoption of the budget? JUDGE TINLEY: Mm-hmm. MS. RECTOR: And it's at 10:30 on September 30th -- JUDGE TINLEY: Yes, ma'am. MS. RECTOR: -- for adoption of the rate? JUDGE TINLEY: For the adoption of the tax rate. MS. RECTOR: Thank you. JUDGE TINLEY: And notice will be published accordingly. Anything further? JUDGE TINLEY: Yeah. I've got -- we have copies available for anybody that would like to look at those, and the breakout into the various portions of the various funds in our budget and the allocation of that tax rate. Be happy to provide copies to anyone who has an interest. Anything further? We'll stand adjourned. Thank you.
