Weden Development Officer Resolution Declaring September 2004 as Destination Dignity Month in Kerr County Whereby, Governor Rick Perry has proclaimed September 2004 as Destination Dignity Month in Texas, and Whereby, the Commissioners' Court of Kerr County recognizes that Hill Country Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center helps residents of Kerr County with serious mental disabilities to lead productive lives as members of their local community; and Whereby, the Court recognizes that more than 200,000 Texans and their families rely on the services of Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Centers as a means of receiving the specialized support they need; and Whereby, the Court recognizes the ongoing efforts of Hill Country Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center in bringing together federal, state and local resources to expand community care options for individuals with serious mental disabilities; and Whereby, the Court recognizes that the support offered through Hill Country Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center provides the assistance and resources crucial to individuals with mental disabilities in being able to recover and live as independently and successfully as possible; and Whereby, the Court encourages the promotion of community awareness, understanding and acceptance of individuals with serious mental disabilities; and Whereby, the Court urges all citizens to recognize and appreciate the valuable role that individuals with serious mental disabilities, their families, and Hill Country Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center each perform in linking individuals with serious mental disabilities with resources to reach their full potential as valued members of their community; The Commissioner's Court of Kerr County hereby resolves that September 2004 be declared Destination Dignity Month in Kerr County.
