Today, September 10, 2004, Mr Jack D Clarke came to our office asking us to make him several signs for his property. During the course of our conversation with Mr. Clarke, he repeatedly referred to his road as "Clarke Dr". He wanted numbers to place on his various dwellings, as well as a road sign identifying his road as "Clarke Dr". When I queried the road file, I discovered there is no "Clarke Dr". However, I did fmd there is a Clark St W, (in Ingram city limits,) and Clark Ranch Rd W (off FM 1340). As I conversed with Mr. Clarke, it became apparent that he had at one time gone to Commissioners Court where the road name "Clarke Dr" was denied due to the other two roads named Clark in the same georegion. I told Mr. Clarke that I could not make a sign with the name, "Clarke Dr" unless I had the approval of the Commissioners by court order. He said he was going to speak with the Commissioners and he would be able to get the road named as he wants it. I've attached a PDF to show the location of Mr. Clarke's road. This road is located in Commissioner Nicholson's precinct. I wanted you to have the full scope of information before Mr. Clarke came to you with his request. Understanding Commissioners hold the final say on such matters, Kerr Emergency 911 Network does have serious safety concerns about a third "Clark" road name within the same georegion.
