General Notes
A. Kerr County Clerk will accept sealed, competitive bids for the lease of one (1) Used Truck with
Asphalt Distributor.
B. Bids must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2004, at the Kerr County
Clerk's Office. Bids will be opened at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at the Kerr County
Commissioners Court. Bids must be original and in sealed envelopes clearly marked "Sealed Bid
0039-04." Bidders are invited to attend the bid opening.
C. Bids must be submitted on the Bid Forms as provided with this Invitation for Bids, or a copy
thereof.
D. Kerr County is not responsible for late delivery by the United States Postal Service or any
independent carrier. Late bids will be returned unopened without consideration. Facsimile
transmittals are not acceptable.
E. Bid award will be made to the responsible bidder offering equipment meeting specifications at
the lowest total price as shown on the Bid Farm.
F. Ken County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
G. All equipment ordered by the County must be delivered, at no cost to the County, to Kerr County
Road & Bridge, 4010 San Antonio Hwy., Kerrville, Texas 78028.

This specification packet must be completed and returned as part of your bias
TO BIDDER: We will be accepting bids to purchase a used Truck with Asphalt Distributor in the best
interest of Kerr County according to; parts, service, warranty, proven reliability, and not necessarily low
bid.
The distributor must:
a. Be designed and constructed to apply an even coat of oil-based asphalt liquids with temperatures
up to 400° F along road surface.	
b. Have all distributor functions and must be cab controlled with the exception of the hand spraying
operation. The application rate shall be the only information required	and entered by the operator
in order for the distributor to accurately control the actual spray rate.	
c. Automatically maintain application rate with changes in far footage shooting width and/or truck
speed.

Motor to be single speed attached to a gear reduction box
direct coupled to the asphalt pump. Entire transmission
shall be capable of operating speeds up to 2800 rpm.
Hydraulic oil may reach temperatures up to 200 degrees
without damage to the unit. Unit to have internal valuing
with relief valve and high oil temperature signal in cab.
